Just like a traditional mortgage, you must make payments on your loan each month. Lenders will give you between five and ten years to draw from your loan, during which time you are generally only required to pay interest payments each month. The amount of interest you pay can fluctuate, and is dependent upon several factors. After this drawing period is over, you then must pay back the entirety of the loan in monthly payments.
